Sassi walking tour + Underground oil mill
Overview
This experience is the perfect union between culture and taste in Matera.
Part of the activity is dedicated to getting to know and exploring the Sassi of Matera, walking along alleys and steps, among enchanting panoramic views and characteristic neighborhoods, accompanied by a local guide. There are stops for historical, architectural and cultural study, and you will have the opportunity to visit one or two sites internally, including rock churches and cave dwellings.
After the tour, you will visit a (not working) historical underground oil mill located in the heart of the Sassi of Matera, inside which the ancient wood and stone machineries, once utilized in the traditional production of olive oil, are preserved.
The experience will end with a tasting of extra virgin olive oil combined with typical local products.
