(Workshop) Ceramic modeling
Overview
This activity is related to a local artistic tradition centered on ceramics. It takes place in an artistic craftsmanship workshop in Matera, to learn clay modeling and decoration techniques.
Option 1 – Duration: 2 hours
A meeting on clay modeling techniques to create your own handcrafted product, assisted by an expert craftsman in his workshop. The laboratory is aimed at acquiring manual skills in modeling, but the object is not finally cooked, so it is not finished and will not be transportable.
Option 2 – Two meetings of 2 hours each (one in the morning and one in the afternoon, or on two different days)
The first meeting will focus on clay modeling techniques to create your own artifact by hand; in the second meeting the clay decoration techniques will be tested on an already made piece which, at the end of the workshop, the customer will be able to take with him as a souvenir of the territory and the experience.
